The Soulcraft Way
So what makes a Soulcraft special? It all starts with you, the customer. Building custom frames is as much knowing how to deal with people as it is actually making the frame. I spend as much time as needed with you to make sure that I have addressed all your concerns. I want you to feel confident with what I am going to build and that you understand how your needs have been incorporated into the frame's design. So whether you know exactly what you want or this is your first custom frame and need my guidance, you will know exactly what I am going to build and why before I start cutting tubes.
Design
While the basic designs of Soulcraft frames have evolved over the years to reflect changing technology and rider preferences, I am a firm believer that you must stick to your basic philosophy in the face of fads and trends. To sum up my design philosophy in a word: balance. I shoot for a ride that is unobtrusive; you should never "notice" the bike. You ride to enjoy the trails or back roads, not to think your equipment. I have built and ridden a lot of different designs over the years and have settled on a basic framework for each model that will deliver a consistent ride from customer to customer.
Build
I was lucky to learn the craft from some of the best in the business and have strived to uphold and advance the standards that were passed on to me. It's one thing to have a good design but you have to follow through with a precise build to see that design work as intended. I have high standards for every single step of the build. From the selection of tubing, through the machining, welding, and alignment processes, and on to paint, prep and decaling, it's got to be right to bear the Soulcraft name.
